The journey of Whitehall Rowing and Sail, from tradition to innovation

Since 1987, founders of Whitehall Rowing and Sail, Harold and Marie, have been introducing people worldwide to the joys of rowing with Whitehall’s expertly crafted boats.

What began as a passion for crafting classic Whitehall designs has evolved into a diverse range of products, including the Oar Board®, a sit-on-top rower that transforms a paddle board into a high-performance rowing boat. Yet, many are still surprised to learn that we’re proudly based on Canada’s west coast, right here on beautiful Vancouver Island.

While much has changed over the decades, one thing remains the same: our commitment to producing the world’s finest all-water rowing boats with exceptional craftsmanship.
