Sailing model upgrades
For those of you who've been checking the prices and found there was this rather large price increase for the sailing models, here's why….

Over the past 10 years we've had next to no customers who've ordered a standard daggerboard sailing model in the 11'6 to 14' range. Most wanted either the option of having a slide seat unit, which requires the centerboard configuration or simply preferred the automatic pivoting feature of the centerboard versus manually lifting and lowering the daggerboard. As a result we have recently decided to make the cast bronze centerboard option standard on all models with the exception of the 9'1" Minto dinghy, which is too small for the centerboard.

Hence the daggerboard option is no longer available on the Westcoast 11'6" the Tyee Spirit and the Whitehall Spirit 14. This means the price of the centerboard unit which was charged separately previously is now included in the base price of the boats.

2005 Prices
Those who purchased their boats earlier this year saved 5 to 7 % over the current prices, which went up in September. Since then we have seen further increases in the costs of materials, some by as much as 20%. We're making every effort to keep the prices stable for the rest of the year, however expect further increases in January 2006 unless we see price reductions.
