Introducing our latest sailing rowboat, the Whitehall 17 Expedition model, designed specifically for adventuring under oar and sail. Orders are being taken now and the first models are under way for their new owners.

Imagine a week of rowing and sailing through one of the most beautiful Island archipelagos on the planet, part of a fleet of classic small craft participating in Raid Finland 2005. Low key racing with a stop for lunch and a swim. This is 60 degrees North where the sun sets at 4am and rises a little later – the land of the midnight sun. The only thing in common with Viking Raids of old is there's plenty of booty to be shared around the barbeque at the end of a long day of fun. A professional chef sails with the fleet. This year's Raid will take place on Finland's gorgeous west coast. The 100 NM course will start in the historic village of Dalsbruk, sailing to Rosalalandet, and the Island of Vänö in the Southwestern Archipelago National Park, then adventuring North visiting Kasnäs and Parainen.

Can it get any better than this? Marie Hutchinson and I think it can – we’re going to be doing the Raid in the new Whitehall Spirit 17 Expedition Model. Mike Hanyi Raid Finland founder and organizer has declared this is the hottest rowing boat that's going to be attending – a huge physiological advantage for us. This Whitehall Spirit 17 Expedition has features suited for Raids or expedition type cruising. Some of the features are shown above.

Bert Reeves of Gibsons, B.C. kindly sent a poem inspired by his Whitehall Spirit 14.
