Slide seat rowing in seaworthy classic Whitehalls is growing in popularity as more and more people discover the physical and mental health benefits of getting out on a nearby patch of water a couple of times a week. In the recently published book "Younger Next Year" Chris Crowley extols the benefits of slide seat rowing in his Whitehall rowboat. We received many calls, got the book, and recommend it.

Greg and Georgina Noble of Great Barrier Island located a few miles away from Auckland New Zealand received their Whitehall Spirit 14 on Christmas Eve. They launched the boat immediately and Greg has been out rowing the waters off Great Barrier many times since. Georgina emailed a picture of the launch. Sure beats shoveling snow!

Other exotic destinations include two Westcoast Sailing models to the Caribbean. Win Lauder in the Dominican Republic reports that the 'Joanne' prefers warm Caribbean waters to the Pacific and impresses all with her classic charm. The other Westcoast, with the hull finished in midnight blue, is heading at this moment towards a rendezvous in Antigua with the 150' Mega Sailing Yacht 'Andromeda'. Which can be seen on the web, click here.

Robert and Corrine LeNoan in Morlaix, France have been enjoying their Whitehall Spirit 17 double slide seat model for about a year and sent along this shot of a row in the rain that appeared in the local paper.

Another beautiful double slide seat Whitehall Spirit 17 is headed to Tom Gray in London England who intends to row it on the Thames. In fact this one as well as Simon Negus's sailing slide seat 17 from Surrey are both planning to be in the water at the Henley Regatta this summer.

Whitehall's fine boats are getting around the planet but the bulk of deliveries are in North America and arrive via our custom truck and trailer ably handled by Whitehall’s driver extraordinaire, Dick Hahn, who many of you have already met.

Here at the office Randy Rochefort has joined the team to work in sales along with Marie Hutchinson and Harold Aune. Randy brings a positive attitude and a love of water and boats to the job. He loves to get out rowing, sailing and messing about whenever he can.
