Whitehall Spirit® Classics that we are offering for sale at prices you haven't seen for a couple of years... These boats are jewels, perfect in every way! Call or email with your favorite desire or to get a copy of the list!

Some big ones that didn't get away!

Whitehall's fiberglass production manager Kurt Beacham is very passionate about fishing. Lately he has been enjoying particularly good luck catching a variety of delicacies while rowing a Whitehall Spirit® 14 classic slide seat model. His favorite spot is just outside the harbour and last week landed a 35 lb halibut that was as long as the boat is wide. Getting it aboard was tricky as his net was a bit too small for this one, unlike his smile, which took a long time to go away.

Kurt sometimes drops a crab trap on the way out and if the fishing is slow some nice tasty crab is waiting for him on the way back.

The Whitehall Spirit® Rowing Club is growing in popularity

The Victoria Club members are really enjoying the ease, affordability and convenience of not owing their own boat yet being able to head out rowing whenever they want in their favorite Club boat. In fact we are getting calls from people in other cities asking if there is a Club located in their area. We thought long and hard about it and did much research. To this end we are now offering a "Business Opportunity" which we call a "Whitehall Spirit® Rowing Club Package"

This is along the lines of a complete "turn key" licensed business with all of the bases covered. If you or someone you know is interested starting an innovative and fun new business for more information email info@whitehallrow.com regarding the "Rowing Club Package" or call us by phone. Erin Lacharity, blind since birth, is a great rower...

A few weeks back I received a call from Erin Lacharity who is a trained rower. She was taught by a well known local rowing coach the late Peter Copeland. However unlike most rowers she has been blind since birth. We met at the Whitehall Spirit® Rowing Club in order to to go out for a row in one of the Club's Tango 17s. The dockside stability of the Tango 17 made getting aboard reasonably easy and soon we were rowing smoothly along Victoria's upper harbour.

Erin rowed in the aft position while I took the forward station. Erin is a great rower. Her stroke was perfect, she kept her blade just under the surface and feathered her blades beautifully. I matched stroke and did the navigating and described what we were passing with the occasional "pull harder on the left etc." The important part was that she really loved the experience and was beaming with pleasure when we got back. And it was really fun! We now go out rowing regularly on Tuesdays just after work.

Recently Erin went out for a row in a Tango 17 with Andrea Guyon and I hauled out the video camera, did a short interview, and put together a 3.5 minute video. It's posted on "Whitehallrow" our channel on You Tube. Several of our video clips are located there and I invite you to subscribe to Whitehall's channel. Rowing On Lake Washington

Khaja Ahmed with wife Asma rows and sails thier classic Whitehall Spirit® 17 quite often and they are discovering night rowing to be an extra special treat.

We fitted out our Expedition 17 with lights for night rowing, just in case we ever got delayed and were unable to make it back to our dock in daylight. Sure enough that did happen. We were glad to have the lights, knowing that other boaters could see us and avoid running into us. What we had not anticipated is how much fun night rowing was.

With few if any other boats on the water, Lake Washington is much calmer. If we time it right we row around the northwest edge of Mercer Island just in time to see the Bellevue skyline to the east, the Seattle skyline to the west gradually lighting up as the ruddy skies grow dark and the sun glides down the far side of the Olympics. It's picture postcard perfect, all around us.

After some initial apprehension, mostly about imagined night time dangers, we now look forward to it, particularly in summer. Full moon nights are a special treat. The silvery shimmer of the moonlight on the water feels oddly serene as steady strokes glide us to our favorite stop - the middle of the lake.

Asma and I rowed over to Seattle from our home in Bellevue and had dinner at Blue Water Bistro there a couple of nights ago. We rowed back in a beautiful starry night. It was a fantastic workout, and a great experience. These are experiences that make the purchase of this exceptional boat worthwhile even in these difficult times.

Thank you to all you happy boat owners for helping spread the word and inspiring your friends and colleagues to join the quiet revolution get into the Whitehall Spirit! Referrals are greatly appreciated in this time of economic restraint. And you know how rowing and sailing these boats change lives for the better!
